I had to put this project on the shelf for a little while because of the convention and making costumes for that. The last time I blogged about this costume, I had finished constructing the bodice and was getting started on the skirt. I’m still a little frustrated with the skirt and it’s taking some time to work through the issues I’m having with it, but today I took some time to (almost) finish trimming the bodice.
Okay, I haven’t mentioned this cosplay since I really wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out – but since ACen is, uh, this week, I better get blogging about it! Me and two of my sisters are going to ACen on Saturday in Trigun cosplay – and I get to be Vash the Stampede! (⊙ꇴ⊙)
I’ve gotten quite behind in my blogging… sorry! I have been busy, and I have been working on costumes, which I’ll be posting some about later this week. (I left it late enough, didn’t I, seeing as the convention is this coming weekend?) For starters, here are some quick photos of my Kiki cosplay, with all its bits.
I know these pics are kinda bad – that’s what I get for thinking it’s a good idea to do costume photos at 6 a.m. after a work night. But, well, here they are. The “preggo effect” of this dress isn’t quite as exaggerated as that second pic makes it look – I tend to slouch badly, a bad habit from before my breast surgery that I can’t quite shake, but when I stand properly straight this dress sits normal. It’s supposed to look like a little girl’s dress, anyway, not a form-fitting woman’s dress. Besides the dress, there’s the red bow headband, and I went for some red flats with bows also – because why not? The wig I bought for this costume was supposed to be dark brown-black, but is actually just… black. I was a little disappointed in that but didn’t have time to try and order another one, so it’ll work.
I also have a red messenger bag to take with, courtesy of my mum who made it for me… and, of course, a Jiji will be riding along!
